5 QUICK AND AFFORDABLE CURB APPEAL IDEAS

How important is curb appeal to your home? Very. First impressions matter with people, and they do with your home, too. Think of it in terms of you meeting someone new. You dress your best…hair just right…got your game face on…you got this. The same holds true for your home, and the face of your home is its curb appeal.

So here are five quick, affordable curb appeal ideas that can help you give your home a facelift this spring. Read on. You got this.

1. Yard Maintenance: This one is mostly free, just an investment of time. Pull weeds, trim hedges, and bushes, make sure the lawn is mowed. Ensure flowers and plants are well watered and dead blooms are cleaned up. Hoses should be rolled up and put away. Toys picked up and stored out of sight.

2. Mailbox: How does yours look? Is it old and rusted? For less than $50 you can install a new one to add a sharp, fresh detail to enhance the look of your home.

3. House Numbers: Are they faded? Are they easy to see and read? Even minor details like this one can make a statement so be sure your numbers are easy to read and look good too!

4. Front Door: Is your front door welcoming and eye-catching? New doors can be very expensive, but a fresh coat of paint or stain can make a big difference and is very affordable. You want to make the entry of your home inviting, welcoming your guests to come on in, and your front door should invite them to do just that.

5. Color: Color is as important to the outside of your home as it is to the inside. Add instant appeal with seasonal plants and flowers in pretty pots or planter boxes around the front of your home, especially the entryway. And seasonal flowers lining your walkway is the perfect way to literally lead guests to your front door.

I hope these tips help you take a look at the first impression your home makes.  Remember that if you find it lacking, a minor investment of time and money can help you take your curb appeal to the next level. Trust me, you’ll love the feeling of coming home to the great new look you’ve given your home, and bonus, your neighbors will love it too!
